Anglican?

There is a proposal to change "Anglican" in the lead and infobox to "Anglican realignment". These are two distinct issues: for the infobox, the other realignment denominations (Church of Confessing Anglicans Aotearoa/New Zealand, Anglican Church in Brazil, Anglican Church in North America) all have "Anglican" (full disclosure: one of those I edited myself), but in the lead of those articles we have both "evangelical Anglican denomination" and "Christian denomination in the Anglican tradition". Now, part of this comes down to what we mean by Anglican - particularly whether it is necessary to be in communion with Canterbury - but that is a theological question that Wikipedia is not really competent to answer. Instead, we have maintain neutrality on this issue. The explanation in the Anglicanism article is good, but it doesn't really help us on this point: "Some churches that are not part of the Anglican Communion or recognised by it also call themselves Anglican". Obviously, the Diocese of the Southern Cross calls itself Anglican, the question is whether we should as well. StAnselm (talk) 04:09, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

The SMH source literally says, "The new church is backed by the Sydney archdiocese and Richard Condie, the bishop of Tasmania." StAnselm (talk) 04:12, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
