Type locality
editNot directly related but a cited reference states that the type locality indicated in the British Museum specimen of Diamesus osculans is "Madras Major Sale". Given that this refers to the Madras Presidency it could perhaps be a mis-reading for Madras Mysore State since the species appears to be found mainly in the Western Ghats, parts of which would have been in the Madras Presidency (Mangalore and Coorg on the edge of Mysore state).
