Merge with Sanskrit_nouns?
editIs a separate page needed for these two bits of explanation? Not much more to be said than what's already there. I propose to merge this with Sanskrit nouns. Dyḗwsuh₃nus (talk) 17:28, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Dyḗwsuh₃nus: Or maybe with Vedic Sanskrit grammar? This page is linked there in a hatnote. I agree that this is unnecessarily and somewhat randomly split out into a separate article. –Austronesier (talk) 23:12, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, fully agree with you, this fits more correctly in Vedic Sanskrit grammar, thanks for pointing this out. I'm working my way through the different grammar pages, and have a bunch of stuff planned out for the Vedic grammar page, I'll incorporate this when I get to that stage, so this page can be slated for deletion. Thanks very much for your response, best, Dyḗwsuh₃nus (talk) 23:29, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Dyḗwsuh₃nus: It'll great if you can take care of Vedic Sanskrit grammar. In its current state, it is undersourced, flip-flops between -ḥ and -s for the nominative ending, and frankly, the Devanagari text bloats the tables, so I would be the last to object if you'd throw them out. –Austronesier (talk) 12:05, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you @Austronesier:, yes I'm on it. Across the various Vedic and Classical Sanskrit grammar pages, I intend to reduce or eliminate both bloat as you say and redundancy, especially the tabular data, and introduce a consistency of approach to them all. (I'm also considering limiting the Vedic grammar tables to those elements unique to Vedic.) Dyḗwsuh₃nus (talk) 14:28, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @Austronesier: et al, this page should soon be ready for deletion. I'm thinking of moving this conversation itself to Vedic_Sanskrit_grammar for posterity! Let me know any comments. --- Dyḗwsuh₃nus (talk) 18:36, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Dyḗwsuh₃nus: Cool! When you are done, just do the following steps:
- Replace the content of the article with "#REDIRECT [[Vedic Sanskrit grammar#Root ī-stem, vṛkī́s and devī́- feminines]]", with the edit summary "Merged with [[Vedic Sanskrit grammar]]"
- Place a comment line "<!---[[Devi and Vrkis feminines]] redirects here--->" at the beginning of the subsection Root ī-stem, vṛkī́s and devī́- feminines with the edit summary "Merged from Devi and Vrkis feminines per Talk:Devi and Vrkis feminines#Merge with Sanskrit_nouns?. See history of that page for attribution".
- This talk page will remain as part of the redirect page, so you won't have to copypaste the discussion. –Austronesier (talk) 18:55, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- Excellent, good to know about these features, better than plain old deleting. All done now. Thanks @Austronesier: for all your help. -Dyḗwsuh₃nus (talk) 19:40, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
