Talk:Denny Crane

There is a site that tracks almost everything Dennny Crane says on the show. It just makes me laugh every day.

Check it out.[1]

Fix this

edit

Another lawyer, Donny Crane, was believed to be Denny's illegitimate son; the product of an affair with an anonymous woman. Denny, however, confessed to Shore that when his mother slapped him with a paternity suit, he settled, and Donny's mother later admitted that he wasn't the father.

You cant say a fact, then say "however". Donny IS Denny's illegitimate son. Someone should fix this sentence up (I don't want to butcher it though).

Should the link to 'Denny Crane for president 2008' be there? i think it is a commercial site

Removed Denny Crane for President in 2008 as it not only is a commercial site, it breaches all kinds of copyright. Whoever runs the cafepress page it links to had better hope that the network doesn't catch wind of his sale attempts. Geoffreygoines 18:06, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reporters

edit

I found it quite funny, what Denny says, when reporters with cameras and microphones are near... I just know the german translation... Should we mention/cite that in the article (he often says his name "Denny Crane" and some short phrases, that are not related to the case)? --Homer Landskirty 00:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know that in the English language version he just repeats his name over and over, but I don't recall him ever uttering anything else in those situations. --Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:43, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ohoh... I already added it... :-) Have u seen "Black Widow" (season 2) already? --Homer Landskirty 07:36, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Denny Crane: Enough said

Fix that

edit

This is just a TV series character.

Even though I love this show (i really do), I would have NEVER expected from *any* encyclopedia to show this embarassing level of needless detail.--PhilipP 02:40, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, this is DENNY CRANE we're talking about, also if you compare it to some other fictional biographies (e.g. Sherlock Holmes or Count Dracula) it's not too much, or even look at the bios for the characters in "Firefly" which only lasted 14(?) episodes but all have highly detailed bios. While you may be correct in that Wiki is an encyclopedia, this shouldn't limit the scope and depth Wiki delves into specific topics. Just because Denny isn't "real" in published encyclopedia, Wiki is at its core a source of INFORMATION, whether real or fictionalized. Further, the mere fact that the information is so extensive shows the interest, and "market controls." --Jophus00 (talk) 21:49, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup tag

edit

Thanks for the edits you made to this article today, Damiantgordon, but please don't remove the cleanup tag without discussing it on the talk page. I think the article still needs significant revisions to read like an encyclopedia article. The article needs copyediting, but it also needs to be made more encyclopedic and include more information about the real world and less information about the fictional world. Critics' opinions of Shatner's performance, for example, would be real-world context that would make the article more encyclopedic. Additional trivia about events on the show, like Denny claiming to have an affair with Barbra Streisand, is an example of the kind of content that there is too much of already. O.K. will try to further tidy up and add more real-world stuff, thanks. Damiantgordon 11:00, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lori

Why is this included on this page? Denny is involved in many "plot" instances that are easily as important as this law suit. I just don't see how the inclusion of this information is relevant to the Denny-specific page. --Jophus00 (talk) 21:51, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sexuality

edit

Does Denny Crane have a confirmed sexuality, because I know throughout the show he has mainly interacted with females, but is anything implied to happen off-camera with Alan? If so, does that make him bisexual? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.45.134.188 (talk) 23:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, he and Alan are soulmates, but not sexual partners. Nerrolken (talk) 03:27, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Breaking the fouth wall

edit

Maybe this section should be moved to the main series article, as not only Denny breaking it, but it's a common method used by other characters as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chandler Rulz (talkcontribs) 21:16, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the episode where Denny is arrested in the courthouse bathroom for supposedly soliciting male sex, Denny and Allen discuss their sexuality. They say they are strictly heterosexual, and that their"sleep overs" (during which it is said they share the same bed), and calling themselves "flamingos" are just male bonding. Similalry, their marriage is supposedly not sexual.```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by Btm1 (talkcontribs) 17:50, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I came here to express that same opinion, about moving this section to the main series article. Then instances of other characters breaking the fourth wall could be added. I'm going to do that now. Equazcion (talk) 18:12, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

"This is our last season!"

edit

In the episode "Kill, Baby, Kill," Denny convinces Carl Sack to allow him to accompany him to Virginia, saying that "it's our last season," and "we need to bond!" I'd add it myself, but the page is semi-protected. 01:56, 30 November 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.129.5.29 (talk)

Marrage to Alan

edit

Alan and Denny are/get into a homosexual marrage. They are marred mainly to avoid Tax laws so that Alan can use Denny's money to fund a system to provide free legal help to the poor. This can be confirmed by many sources. CindyAbout/T/P/C/ 04:14, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Go away. This has nothing to do with the page. Also, I'd rather listen to the people in labcoats telling me computers are all right rather than the druid idiot that can't spell "Nature" right.

On topic, In the family section, it only lists his father, even though he's been confirmed to have an Uncle named Will. 67.187.172.89 (talk) 01:55, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
