Shared Death Experiences / Deathbed visions

edit

It seems to me that this article is closely related to Shared Death Experiences (SDEs) and should perhaps be merged. I am currently discussing adding this as a section to the Near-death experience page. I notice that Deathbed visions already redirects there. I invite you to see my comments on the talk page

I added a redirect from Shared-death experience to this article and changed the Deathbed visions redirect to this article as well Topher67 (talk) 23:40, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

This page presents paranormal phenomena as if they exist, and doesn't describe any scientific investigation into whether or not the anecdotal reports are true. -- Beland (talk) 17:15, 5 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Added new external link to report on scientific investigations into these phenomena. Topher67 (talk) 20:14, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

There are two different issues here. Do individuals have deathbed communications(DBCs)? If so, are they really communicating with the deceased? We know dying individuals report seeing, hearing or kinesthetically communicating with deceased friends and family members. That experience does occur and in large numbers. However, as you have indicated, there is no proof the deceased friends or relatives are really in the room. Clinically it does not alter the dying person's response. If the person has a deathbed communication, he or she generally experiences a better death (Lawrence & Repede, 2012). What has scientists interested in this phenomena is the report by the dying person of events only reported in the DBCs.Madelaine8115 (talk) 15:31, 3 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

WOW! It's now a totally different article -- completely rewritten from a skeptical POV. 205.250.166.134 (talk) 09:17, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
