Common name: to ooray or Davividson's plum? - that is the question!

I've changed the claim in the article from a previous edit that "ooray" is the only common name used by growers for Davidsonia pruriens. This just isn't the case. A quick search shows that both names are used commonly to describe Davidosnia pruriens, and it's clear that many marketers and growers are still using the terms "Queensland Davidson's plum" and "Davidson plum" to describe Davidsonia pruriens. I don't disagree with the merits of using the term "ooray", but wikipedia is not about entering into pushing an agenda by groups with vested interests - it's about reflecting the true situation.

Also, the claim on the commercial website that was linked too, that the term "Davidson's plum" is only used to describe the NSW Davidsonia, is just not true. Davidson's plum was in fact named after a Queeensland cane grower who was the first non-indigenous person to initially 'discover' Davidsonia pruriens - in otherwords the name Davidson's plum comes from Queensland and was originally used to describe Davidsonia pruriens - and not the NSW species!John Moss (talk) 05:33, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
