Complaints

Hi,

I'm new to Wikipedia; I actually got the text for "Dancing Dots" from [http:www.dancingdots.com][1]. The complaints by the CorenBot are a result of [2] copying the text at www.dancingdots.com. I'm not really sure how to handle this.

Well, this is rather confusing, because the text looks pretty much identical to what's at the website identified by CorenSearchBot, but I haven't found that text at www.dancingdots.com. Could you tell me which subpage of that website it's at?

In any case, if it's copied from a website, then we need assertion of permission. It has to be done right, following the instructions. I'm putting a message on your talk page, which includes instructions for establishing copyright permission.

I'm also putting the copyviocore template on this article. Please don't remove it, even if you originally copied the information from a different website, but leave that template there while we discuss and try to resolve this issue. As the permissions letter has not yet been processed and the external site continues to bear a copyright notice, I have replaced the existing text with new material. This seems to me to be clearly a notable company that should be covered on Wikipedia, but as we do not require identity verification at account creation, we must have external permission to utilize text previously published at other sites. If you choose to resend the letter, please be sure that it indicates the name of the Wikipedia article and precisely locates the external site and that it permits use of the material under GFDL, which allows reuse (commercially and otherwise) and modification, reserving the right only to attribution. --Moonriddengirl ^(talk) 13:07, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Timing. :) (Clearance arrived several hours late.) I've restored your text in "history" and incorporated some of the cleared text you placed into the current article, although at this point it would be inappropriate to restore it altogether to that earlier version.
