Citation for editors in first edition
editHello Randykitty ,
Thank you for your attention to this page. Please try other methods when looking up books, as I suspect you only tried looking for Ausubel plus the 1987 date. Sometimes electronic databases might not have all listings, and this book was published almost around 30 years ago, not to mention it being a scientific text book. In any case, try searching up through the ISBN if you cannot find the book. On ISI, they list the book as 1988, but I do think the book's first edition was in 1987.
If you are confused to why this book was cited, it is because the original editors (who established this series) would obviously be listed in the 1st edition.
Please respond with you concern, or I will remove your tag.
Thanks!

- The homepage of this book does not mention anything authored by Ausubel older than 10 years or so. Where did you see this reference? Do you have any extra details (title, pages, and such)? --Randykitty (talk) 20:03, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Little confused here on what you're asking. "The homepage of this book does not mention anything authored by Ausubel older than 10 years or so." Why would this textbook from 1987 list things Ausubel published 10 years ago? If you're saying that you can't find anything published by Ausubel before 10 years ago, I would say that you are doing something wrong.
I think you are overthinking this reference. We are just referencing the book for the editors of that said book. Does not get more straightforward than that.

If you do not have any further concerns about the references please delete undo your tags about the references. (This is cellnaturescience but I forgot my password).

- Worldcat gives 1987 as first publication date. However, it also gives only Ausubel as author/editor. The current website does not list the others as past editors, although it does list them as either members of the editorial board or contributors. So it looks like Ausubel was sole editor at the time, with the others only being board members. Is that correct? As for your password, if you have added an email address into your preferences, you can reset the password and regain access easily. --Randykitty (talk) 09:49, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yes I am aware of the password reset feature if I signed up with an email address. It's a feature on virtually on all websites that requires an email login. Anyways, I saw on ISI as well that only Ausubel was listed as an author but I don't know if that's because ISI is old or if Ausubel was considered the only editor. For now I'll put him as the founding editor (it says it as well on his bio:https://molbio.mgh.harvard.edu/laboratories/ausubel) and put the others as the current editorial board (listed from here: http://www.currentprotocols.com/WileyCDA/Section/id-810303.html).
