I like this article and do think it's necessary and notable. Where else can one read about "scrapple?" Awful stuff but widely available in Allentown.

Could be improved in various ways and possibly expanded slightly into a new article on slightly more broad region of eastern Pennsylvania, which generally does have some very peculiar and notable foods. Calamitybrook (talk) 01:58, 21 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree that this article should be improved. I made some changes to remove the editorial and off-hand remarks that are not substantiated in any way. For example, The sentence that referenced Hershey as having an influence on the area is unsubstantied. Moreover, an equal competitor, Mars Candy (M&Ms, Twix, and other brands) is located in Hackettstown, NJ, which is closer to Allentown, PA. 28 miles versus the 75 mile to Hersey. If we listed every major food manufacturer withing 75 Miles of Allentown, the article would be ridiculous.
Other removals were "perhaps the most popular" as referring to Yocco's"
I also added "surrounding townships" because the OA inclued many restaurants that are not actually in Allentown (Emerils is in Bethlehem, Shulas is in Upper Saucon, etc)
I did not change all that I thought of. For example, I am not sure if the New York reference to Pizza is accurate. There is nothing to substantiate that Allentown Pizza has been influenced by New York.Peteycat (talk) 12:07, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Maybe the page should be changed to Cuisine of the Lehigh Valley. Bethlehem for example, is sizable itself and now is home to a casino, which, if course, has food options. Loveyourcar (talk) 19:07, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I also think changing the page to ...Lehigh Valley is a good idea. A-town is not Philly, and it doesn't dominate the area. 207.210.129.61 (talk) 21:50, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I agree, too, and I'd like to be bold, but I haven't the faintest clue how to change a page name. Foofish (talk) 22:53, 30 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
One can read about scrapple in the Wikipedia article on scrapple. Uporządnicki (talk) 16:54, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone know the brand of sauce and who makes the rolls at the Brass Rail? I have heard that the rolls come from Malone's bakery, but am not positive. And I have no idea who makes the sauce. Thanks for you help!--64.121.41.204 (talk) 06:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
