Etruscan
editWhat's that about a Etruscan cryptolect? I read somewhere a hypothesis that Etruscan was a language game on Latin, kind of vesre or verlan, used by priests. But it seemed very dubious. Is this what the mention is about? --Error 02:16, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
Merge?
editShould this be merged with Cant (language), or vice versa? --Jim Henry | Talk 15:37, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
- I think so. I'll stick a merge tag on both for now. Which page should be kept? ntennis 00:08, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
- I would hazard a guess that Cant is the more popular term as "cryptolect" turns up 214 Google hits, a good portion of which mention a specific Cant. In fact, "cryptolect" seems to turn up almost exclusively in the phrase "Etruscan cryptolect". I would merge everything under Cant and switch this over to a redirect. --Kyle Davis 05:14, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
