Talk:Controlled internal drug release

CIDR - Controlled Intravaginal Drug Release.

I see this page was originally called Controlled Intra-vaginal Drug Release but was changed to Controlled Internal Drug Release in 2012 stating that the former was incorrect. This itself is incorrect, but I'm not confident enough to create the correct title and move the article. If someone ever comes across this that is that way inclined, please feel free to do so, I'm happy to answer any other questions regarding this.

It seems internal has become a sort of euphemism in this case, and the former is certainly more correct that the latter. I worked at InterAg in the early 2000's on the then current developments of the CIDR family of devices. In all documentation it was definitely intravaginal (no hyphen) throughout the DEC International group of companies (InterAg developed, Waikato Milking Systems sold and Millennium Plastics manufactured) and even documentation dating back to its invention at Alex Harvey Industries (from which the above companies excluding Millennium were originally subsidiaries and subsequently split from).

The title as it stands suggests its an article on general internal devices (intraruminal for example) but these were never refered to as CIDR devices which is what this article exclusively talks about.

IUD

It would be clearer to call it an IUD for sheep, or cows, or goats, because that is what it is. Is there an alternative that does not use progesterone? Does it even need the drug to work? My Flatley (talk) 17:47, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
