Redirect edit

This page redirected to the Republican Party page, which is clearly inaccurate since nobody refers to that party as the Conservative Party (caps intentional). Frankly, the page should probably be deleted. If someone wants to clean up this disambig page, please do so. --Davidp (talk) 16:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreed on the first point. The reluctant disambiguation has a POV feel, however. I'm redirecting the page to the New York party. The page should not be deleted, because New York State ballots identify the Conservative Party as such, with no indication that it does not exist nationwide. Therefore, this is exactly what you'd type into Wikipedia if you didn't know that, especially since it nominates national tickets such as McCain/Palin. This could arguably re-direct to the Democratic Party as the Democratic Party was called this in many Southern states during re-construction.

Certainly that usage ought to appear somewhere. john k (talk) 06:31, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Conservative Party in Illinois edit

There is currently a Conservative Party in Illinois that was formed for the 2018 election cycle. The party was formed in large part to provide a more conservative alternative to current Republican Governor Bruce Rauner. A party called the Conservative Party was formed in 1992 to provide a pro-life alternative for Republican voters in the Illinois General Election for US Senate that year as well.
