Disambiguate Congo (country): A Congo country, but Which?

This disambiguation page Congo (country) serves this clearup: There are two countries easily named 'Congo': Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa), plus their historical ones. And Congo has more uses, so there exists a Disambiguation-page, now called Congo. That is good.
Very often editors have linked to Congo, meaning a country Congo, but without specifying which one of the two (but surely excluding any other meaning of Congo, like Congo River etc.). For these situations, an editor can insert [[Congo (country)|Congo]]. When this link is used, the Disambiguation-problem is narrowed to the two possibilities. Any editor disambiguating still has the option of inserting both states when necessary. Also a historical name can be found through the Congo-link. -DePiep (talk) 22:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Background for creating this page

From the WikiProject Disambiguation. A week ago there were about 260 links from articles to the page Congo (disambiguation). First we did a clean up by linking the article directly to the right Congo-article, if that one could be decided, of course. Then still 80 pages linked to 'Congo', because the editor did not describe which Congo-state was meant, and it could not be determined during the cleanup. These 80 links have been linked to Cogo (country) here. Effect: narrowing of the disambiguate-question of each of these articles, and grouping them here (see 'What links here'). Further: 'Congo' (disambiguation) is not bothered with these links. Even a historical Congo-state can be found via this page.
