A Colure is a Great Circle

edit

The equator and the colures comprise the principle circles of the Celestial Sphere. They are all great circles. Their use can be found in Ptolemy's Almagest. See Toomer, G.J. (1998). Ptolemy's Almagest. Princeton University Press. p. 46. ISBN 0-691-00260-6.. --Jbergquist (talk) 01:55, 15 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Constellations need to be updated?

edit

Perhaps I am mistaken but shouldn't it be updated to say Pisces and Virgo (for the equinoctial) and Gemini and Sagittarius (for the solstitial)? 172.56.17.238 (talk) 21:37, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Solstitial and equinoctial axis

edit
