Page is currently under development 11:50 EST. Please let us work for a little bit, eh? Maybe till say, I dunno, tomorrow? Sheesh, you guys want this deleted 15 minutes after I started... Awigo50 (talk) 03:51, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

This page looks fairly well put together to me. Intext citing could help though. Zelnu (talk) 05:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Roberts–Chebyschev theorem edit

The article now says:

The theorem states for a given coupler-curve there exist three four-bar linkages, three geared five-bar linkages, and more six-bar linkages which will generate the same path.

I'd like to insert something like this:

The Roberts–Chebyschev theorem, named after ?????? Roberts and Pafnuty Chebyschev, states for a given coupler-curve there exist three four-bar linkages, three geared five-bar linkages, and more six-bar linkages which will generate the same path.

But I am uncertain how to fill in the blank. My guess is Richard Roberts (engineer). But nothing in the article about him mentions this theorem. If he's the right one, then the article about him should link to this article. Michael Hardy (talk) 19:35, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hartenberg & Denavit have him as Samuel Roberts (1827–1913). They give his paper, now cited as a reference. Further, on p 25 of their book is a biographical sketch.Rgdboer (talk) 00:51, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
