Full previews and reviews:

Famitsu's webpage for the game, which lists the issue the game was reviewed in. I don't have access to Weekly Famitsu 132, but notability just needs to prove that these sources exist, not that I actually have them. A Famitsu score is a +1 for notability. At a later date, I will gain access to the exact issue.

  • 2. Famitsu preview - Weekly Famitsu (160/161): 30–31. January 10, 1992.

Preview of PC Cocoron. I don't have access to this now.

  • 3. "Le Japan en Direct". Console Plus (28): 22. January 1994.

French mag that previewed PC Cocoron. PC Cocoron is a port of Cocoron to the PC Engine. It's the same game. I have access to this article and have the magazine.

HG101's overview of the game by Kurt Kalata.

  • 5. "Utata Kiyoshi Artdot Works" (in Japanese). Japan: Game Area 51. 2011. pp. 138–141.

Art book published by Area 51 covering Utata Kiyoshi's history. Section covering Cocoron. I have absolutely no idea what this says since it's in Japanese. There's a second book that is an interview with him, and this likely covers Cocoron as well.

  • 6. GameFan issue 1-12

Very short preview of the game, only 4 screenshots and two sentences. I don't know if I should includes these.

  • 7. Marukatsu Vol 1 1994
  • 8. Marukatsu Vol 2 1994

7-8 are Previews of PC Cocoron. These have been scanned. This will need translation however.

Conclusion

Cocoron and PC Cocoron are the same game as it's just a port of the same game. The interview of the Game Preservation guy confirms it. Therefore sources for PC Cocoron add notability to Cocoron in general. Since PC Cocoron never came out, there's been a search in game-mags for all the known magazines that covered it, therefore, PC Cocoron is actually better documented than the actual released game.

A big problem is that several soruces haven't been scanned and several others are in Japanese. And keep in mind, this is only a fraction of coverage of gaming magazine coverage. New magazines are being scanned all the time. Japanese mags have the least coverage of all gaming mags in general. There's also retrospective Japanese books, of which I only own 1. It doesn't mention Cocoron, but there's likely others. I've ordered several and will update if there's more. Harizotoh9 (talk) 16:11, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
