Talk:Cockayne (surname)

Not sure why William Cockayne was deleted from this page. Admittedly, W. Cockayne was a minor historical figure, but he was a significant person in 17th century London and is mentioned in various historical texts. The reason I created a disambiguation page for "Cockayne" and this surname page is because I was initially searching for information on W. Cockayne and was being redirected to an utterly irrelevant page on a book called "The Complete Peerage" edited by George Cokayne. Granted, W. Cockayne doesn't have an article yet, but he is almost certainly a more important figure than either Ben Cockayne or David Cockayne, a rugby player and Oxford professor respectively, who will almost certainly be virtually forgotten in a century. And yet someone comes alone within minutes, ignores my previous discussion point, and deletes William Cockayne again before I even have a chance to write the article for him. Sheesh. Blert 08:40, 27 October 2006 (UTC)BlertReply
