Obsolete motto?

According to the 2002 constitution, the motto is back to "Travail - liberté - patrie". The coat of arms has reverted too. --Gribeco 20:55, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Coat of arms during the Third Republic (1979-1992)

Does anyone know if the coat of arms was the same during the Third Republic? The national motto was different then ("Union, Peace, Solidarity" [source: http://legitogo.gouv.tg/be/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Pages-from-jo_1980-002x.pdf]), so I was wondering if perhaps the words on the ribbons were different then, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:442:4680:3331:5998:810F:FD57:45AD (talk) 19:37, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Move to "Coat of arms of Togo"

The symbol is called a coat of arms in the constitution, where it is also blazoned in the article 3. While the blazon is faulty, it clearly employs French heraldic jargon and attempts to emulate blazonry syntax. The same blazon calls the whole "an oval escutcheon", thus making it a coat of arms in intent and form. — Dughorm (talk) 13:40, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
