Links back to article edit

Currently, both links to undercoat and topcoat link back to this same article. May be useful to simply remove the links until actual articles for the two exist. Torch Of Baphomet (talk) 18:21, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Guard hair" redirects to here, but this article is just a load of fluff (lol). Could somebody PLEASE edit it so it has actual biological information? ~Anon, 8:22 EST 6/11/13 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.168.18.34 (talk) 12:22, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

– Per WP:NATURAL and because the current disambiguation is confusing (a coat is not an animal, it's a trait of an animal). There is the possibility it could be confused with "coats for animals", but this one could too, so that doesn't really change anything. • Support per nom, the current title is fairly confusing. – Thjarkur (talk) 14:33, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment. I'm not entirely opposed to this move, but looking at Scale which when referring to the trait of an animal is called Scale (anatomy), perhaps the move should be to Coat (anatomy). I wasn't able to find a similar example where a disambiguator was used though, so Animal coat (in line with Human brain and the like) might be the best. • Support first. Not sure about second, as "dog coat" could refer to a coat worn by a dog. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:48, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Could be addressed with a hatnote like: this article is about the aspect of canine anatomy. For coats worn by dogs, see Rug (animal covering). For coats made from dogs, see Fur clothing. The current disambiguation is outright wrong, so any move would be a good move.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 18:41, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment - "Pelage" is the correct name for an animal's coat. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:38, 27 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
