The rules of editing Wikipedia
editIn reference to the edits made by user: Erskine alba. Firstly any unsourced information can be removed from Wikipedia as per the rules of editing. In order to keep the Clan Erskine article to a good standard any info added to it should have a source quoted. The user added quite a lot of unsourced info to it, which the rules of Wikipedia allow to be removed. I am happy for more info to be added providing that it is properly sourced. Secondly, you are not supposed to remove existing sourced information - without prior discussion, and you should not alter existing sourced information so that it no longer reflects what is being quoted in the source. The said user removed some existing sourced info from the Clan Erskine article and altered some so that it no longer reflected the source being quoted. In reference to Margaret of Mar, yes the Clan Mar are a separate clan to the Clan Erskine, but they share ancestry as well as the Mar title so it is important to make clear the differences. Please discuss this matter before just going and reverting.QuintusPetillius (talk) 11:46, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
