Generic team name edit

Small advice, find a generic name for the team because when the team changes sponsors at some point in the future you'll have to change all the hyperlinks pointing to the article. --Falcadore (talk) 02:57, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The hyperlinks will still work. I wouldn't object to "Citroën World Rally Team", but the team has been called "Citroën Total" in every full season they have competed in the WRC. Prolog (talk) 08:49, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Citroën Total World Rally Team will still be a valid link in any article relating to at least events in the 2001 to 2008 time period in any case. MRacer (talk) 10:46, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
About time, moved it. A general principle in Wikipedia is not to have those monsterous sponsor names in titles, McLaren Mercedes but no Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Of course the sponsor names will be given in the lead and template, but otherwise should be linked separately. --Pudeo' 13:13, 4 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Number of Rally wins edit

Hi, some of you may have noticed I've corrected the stats. Number of Rally wins for Citroen WRT is 57. This is calculated by Leob 52 (60 - 8 wins for Kronos Citroen = 52) + Puras 1 + Sainz 2 + Duval 1 + Ogier 1 (Portugal 2010 win was for Citroen Jr. Team, Japan 2010 win was for Citroen WRT) = 57 wins. Correct up to Rally France 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by P8rsn (talkcontribs) 17:05, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Correct except that I think you forgot Bugalski's two wins. Prolog (talk) 17:21, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Citroen WRT entered WRC in 2001 (thats what it says in stats) so Bugalski's 2 wins in 1999 don't count. —Preceding unsigned comment added by P8rsn (talkcontribs) 17:32, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
The 2001 founding is not correct. The source used for it was this, which however says 1989. The current Crash.net profile and WRC.com also support 1989. Prolog (talk) 17:54, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes it was formed in 1989 so 59 (+2 for Bugalski is correct). I've now changed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.30.249.120 (talk) 22:00, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hello! I think there is a little confusion : "Citroën Sport" was formed in 1989, in order to replace "Citroën Compétition". "Citroën WRT" was officially formed in 2001. These are 2 different things : "Citroën WRT" is a part of "Citroën Sport" (now named "Citroën Racing"). Woodada (talk) 22:39, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Citroën Sport currently redirects here. Do you have a source for 2001? Prolog (talk) 17:41, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hello! As you can imagine, there is no clear source saying that "Citroën WRT was created in 2001", because "Citroën WRT" has not always been the official name of the team since 2001. Nevertheless, here is what you can find that demonstrates Citroën really starts its WRC career in 2001 after the "Citroën Compétition" era in the 80s :

Last but not least, you can see on www.juwra.com that there is no official season for Citroën between 1986 and 2001 : http://www.juwra.com/citroen_seasons.html
In my opinion, it would be easier to consider "Citroën Sport" (which is credited 69 wins) in this page instead of "Citroën WRT". But it's just a suggestion. Do what you want.

Number of Rally wins changed to incorrect number edit

The correct number of rally wins up to Rally Spain 2010 is 60. Read what is written above and add 1. —Preceding unsigned comment added by P8rsn (talkcontribs) 10:12, 25 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wins and 2016 season edit

How is the number 97 calculated? http://juwra.com/citroen_seasons.html – Season 2016 is not included and it's already included at Citroën Junior Team

wins
  • 2001 – 1
  • 2002 – 1
  • 2003 – 4
  • 2004 – 7
  • 2005 – 11
  • 2007 – 8
  • 2008 – 11
  • 2009 – 7
  • 2010 – 9
  • 2011 – 10
  • 2012 – 10
  • 2013 – 3
  • 2015 – 1
  • 2017 – 2
  • 2018 – 1 (Catalunya)
  • =total of 86
Although some like to include all Citroens into one, per [1] Catalunya was 99th victory for them. But in this case we should merge Citroen Junior team and make something like "Citroen in WRC".. Pelmeen10 (talk) 14:39, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
