By the Bluest of Seas

I came to this article a few months ago, hoping to find out what the most renowned Azerbaijani films are (a pretty basic expectation for this sort of article). Although a few pre-1930s titles are mentioned specifically, and I'm sure that those have their merits, I feel that more recent titles need to be offered as well. By the Bluest of Seas certainly isn't "modern", having been released in 1936, but it's at least of the sound era and has received noteworthy critical attention from modern critics. Although the film could be perceived as Russian, due to its director, I believe that Azerbaijanfilm was the production company; the story takes place in Azerbaijan, and I believe that all or at least most of the film was shot in the country. So it should certainly be mentioned as an important piece of Azerbaijan's cinematic history. --Jpcase (talk) 18:54, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
