The reference to aphrodisiac properties needs more scholarly attention (the literature in the area appears to populated by only one or two authors, who seem to be interested parties). Also some warning about the potential dangers of saponins is needed.

This genus has been assigned to various families: Anthericaceae (Flora of Zimbabwe), which seems now to be considered a synonym of Asparagaceae (GRIN) in which this genus is placed in the subfamily Agavoideae. Hermeswiki (talk) 11:42, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
