Proposed expansion to 8,878 sq km edit
Plans for the expansion of the CMA have been announced (eg, The Hindu), but does not the proposal need to be approved by the TN government, or by Delhi? NB The CMDA profile still puts the area at 1,189km2. Batternut (talk) 12:19, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
Population data incorrect edit
Why has the population been changed to only include 2011 population of pre expansion area? With 2011 data, the population of the newly expanded Chennai area comes out to around 14 million if you add up populations of all the cities/districts. 2600:8800:1E81:73F0:C703:B757:32DD:4347 (talk) 10:03, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Page name could be renamed Chennai Metropolitan Area edit
Page has duplicates. Chennai page refers to the below page and then we get redirected to here. Propose to move page to Chennai Metropolitan Area.

- As per the naming convention it has to be Chennai metropolitan area. It is a redirect because the page was moved in 2018 and to preserve links, it has been marked as a redirect.
