Hi - I just checked the new links. The first one: https://web.archive.org/web/20060827133535/http://archive.tri-cityherald.com:80/travel/stories/world/sadisland.html worked fine. However, the second one goes to the page all right but I couldn't get any of the interactive features or illustrations to show. Perhaps that is because of some setting on my computer? I don't know - so I haven't updated the rating on the changes. Best wishes, John Hill (talk) 02:32, 19 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Harbor Defenses of Trinidad

edit

I'm planning to add material from this website and whatever else I can find on the US Army's Harbor Defenses of Trinidad somewhere. The headquarters was on Chacachacare Island, so I'm thinking of putting it in this article. Does anyone think the information should have a better home, or should I put it in a separate article? The material will somewhat resemble another article of mine, Harbor Defenses of Argentia and St. John's. RobDuch (talk) 20:48, 30 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

That website seems to be rubbish. There was no hq on small Chacachacare island, and Wallerfield is in east central Trinidad, not in Chaguaramas. If you think it can be of help, check my bookshelf. Kind regards, Grueslayer 07:31, 31 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I meant HECP rather than headquarters. Anyway, online resources are minimal about Trinidad's coast defenses. Even the CDSG website fails to mention where weapons were actually deployed and is uncertain as to whether the 90 mm AMTB batteries were built. Fort Read redirects to Cumuto, maybe the HD info should go there. I think I'll put this one off for a while, I have much else to work on. RobDuch (talk) 20:31, 31 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
