Today's Supernatural length

Why have the length of "Today's Supernatural" already listed? The band changes things all the time before release. Almost every song Panda Bear released before Tomboy was changed on the album. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.203.93.8 (talk) 14:17, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

That's because there were two main parts to the production of Tomboy: Panda Bear's initial recording and mixing for the singles, and then Sonic Boom's final mixing for the album. Other than the Purple Bottle, all of AC's singles in the past have used the exact same mix as the album since all the mixing is usually done together at one time and not changed later.130.216.172.102 (talk) 07:18, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Corrections

Deakin was absent from touring from 2007 to 2009, but has been working with AC constantly on projects such as their visual album ODDSAC and the Transverse Temporal Gyrus piece at the Guggenheim in 2010 that was released on record earlier this year. "Centipede Hz saw the return of Deakin to Animal Collective, who sat out of the recording and touring of Merriweather Post Pavillion." kind of makes it seem like he wasn't involved with the band at all and that nothing happened between Merriweather and Centipede Hz so if someone could expand on that part that would be cool.

Ben Allen was the co-producer for Merriweather Post Pavilion and Centipede Hz. He's listed as having "co-produced" the album with Animal Collective on the press page for Centipede Hz here:

So the side bar thing has it right, but if you're just mentioning Ben Allen it would be more precise to say "co-producer". The Pitchfork article says "producer" but the press page from the record label is probably going to be the correct source.

Also, "In turn, most of the rhythm sections such as drums were recorded live by Panda Bear."

Actually this is true of Merriweather Post Pavilion as well. I think it's more notable that Panda Bear used a sit-down drum kit for the first time since Here Comes the Indian (I think that's mentioned in the same source as well as in a lot of other interviews). But he's used live drums on nearly every album they've made so I'm not sure if the live drums alone are worth mentioning.130.216.172.102 (talk) 07:39, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Wide Eyed

Wide Eyed is not the first Animal Collective song to feature Deakin on lead vocals. On the Keep cassette, each of the 4 members released a song, each featuring that member on lead vocals (excluding Jailhouse, Geologists track). The song "Country Report" is the first Animal Collective song to feature Deakin on vocals, unless you regard each individual track on that EP as a solo release from each member. Wide Eyed is, however, the first track with Deakin on lead vocals to appear on an LP. Would you consider changing this? It's still a release of original and new material, regardless of whether it is an EP or not. Also, the tape itself is marked as an Animal Collective release, not as a release from each member from the group. Granted, each member has his own song and his own shoe design, but the tape itself is marked as an Animal Collective tape. AlbertWesker411 (talk) 12:01, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

Add the BPM review?

Can we add some more reviews? We should at least add the BPM review (metacritic has it posted first on the album's page). I'll add the BPM review, but because 10 is the max, that will be the last review we will add. Also, while the album has been favorably received, it also received a lot more mixed reviews than MPP (yeah, I'm also a little disappointed). The reviews in the review box reflect this reaction. I think what they wrote in the credits is actually @ATIBAPHOTO, who is Atiba Jefferson. He's pretty well known to be a photographer who's done a lot of work with Animal Collective recently, so I'd suggest changing the "@Attbaphoto" in the credits to "Atiba Jefferson". 219.89.52.111 (talk) 05:12, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

Jizz-wailing

Personally I have no issues with jizz-wailing being listed as a genre seeing as it refers to a (albeit fictional) musical style that is defined in relation to the album in its citation, but I cannot describe how hard it made me laugh when I first saw it.
