As I see editors insisting that there must be Only One Capitalization Rule, I'm increasingly in favor of reviving "catenet" to remove the ambiguity about lower-case internet. Perhaps I can get an opinion from Vint Cerf, who invented the term. Hcberkowitz 20:08, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree, the Internet is one of several catenets. Internet is the name of the instance of a network of type catenet. To insist that the Internet is the only network is to ignore the several other networks that may be connected at gateways through links that are not backbone links.
