Remove the image edit

Brunelleschi? edit
Did Brunelleschi really design the dome in Florence along the principle of the catenary? This claim has no reference. And it seems unlikely for two reasons. First, Isaac Newton first determined the catenary is the shape of a hanging chain, but he lived three centuries later. Second and more important, a catenary's curvature increases as you get closer to the apex, but Brunelleschi's dome tends to straighten out as it gets higher. It looks like it follows a curve that eventually converges on a 45 degree incline. And third, the dome supports a heavier cap, unlike a free-standing catenary arch. —MiguelMunoz (talk) 09:09, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
