It appears that many of the references cited here come from publications written by the same veterinary surgeons who are pioneering surgical treatment for this disorder.
How reliable is a quoted success rate for an operation when that rate has been provided by the surgeons themselves and it has not been reviewed by any external party?
In part this article reads as an advertisement for Long Island Veterinary Specialists.
