Notability claim
editFWIW the notability claim I see for this article is not (yet) reflected in the article text. CanSats are notable because Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) educators have standardized on this size for use in student projects that design and build sounding rocket payloads. Satellite or Sounding Rocket Payload?
editAlthough the term CanSat leads one to suppose these are (orbital) satellites, have there in fact been any placed into orbit? Or have they all been sounding rocket payloads? (sdsds - talk) 00:08, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- None have ever been placed into orbit. "CanSats" are only sounding rocket payloads. The term "satellite" is here not applicable. --GDK (talk) 15:48, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- The "History" section of this article is extremely confusing; it calls CanSats satellites in several places, and the mention of cubesats is also confusing. Greg (talk) 17:32, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
