Merge edit

merge as per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting/RulesStandards. Our intent is not to delete anyone's work or to minimize the importance of any article that already exists on the Wikipedia. Instead our goal is to tighten the information, to make it more relevant and useful for the general Wikipedian. This article will be absorbed in its entirety to the larger state Scouting article. The newer article will encompass OA lodges, Councils, early nonBSA Scouting organizations like Campfire or Woodcraft, Girl Scouting where applicable, and other ideas as they come up. I don't think this should be merged edit

Camp Parsons is an extremely popular Boy Scout camp nation-wide (they have troops from all over the country attend), so it definitely deserves its own page.

The Camp is one of the oldest and most famous Boy Scout camps in the nation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.81.75.144 (talkcontribs) 19:53, 3 March 2006

I also don't think it should be merged. WyleOut (talk) 16:01, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Revision edit

Just an FYI...I'm gonna take some time and overhaul this article to bring it up to the Wikipedia standards in my sandbox. The finished product should be up in a few weeks. Sevey13 (talk) 05:25, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am a former staffer, first time editing on Wikipedia, I included some info from www.campparsons.com webpage, I'll keep working on editing it.WyleOut (talk) 16:01, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

We cannot use content copied from a site that does no specifically release said content into the public domain. The history is overwhelming and make this look like a historical camp. For a viable article, it needs content on why the camp is notable. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 13:44, 27 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I understand the need for a release of content (of which we give) but to say that it needs content on why the camp is notable? Did you read the history? The oldest west of the mississippi, the founder of the scouting movement worldwide visited, founded by individuals who transformed Seattle from a town to a city?....I think there is enough to make it notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CampParsons (talkcontribs) 22:02, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
