Ref or not - a recent reversion by me.

I have reverted an edit which introduced a web address into the text along with a change in version number. It feels to me that the editor has either tried to put the link as a ref for the correction in version number or as an external link to the website. But I could not find in the website anything about the version number. (Not here or in the following two [1][2]. I also tried to check by using a search engine and failed to find anything on it [3]. So, I assume that this cannot be put as a ref. Hence I reverted it. But this article does not cite any source at all. Someone having better knowledge about the subject please decide which version number is correct, and if possible provide a reference too.
