untitled edit

Thanks Will. The notable news event reads much better now. BTW do you see the spin that the local news media put on this piece? News sources like the local papers have a doctrine they must follow in order to continue receiving Regional/Municipal ad revenues. "They need to know what to report and how to report it." or they tend to get blacklisted from geting public money. When the Star ran the piece the other local papers went into damage control to help the local propaganda machine--Wiki The Humble Woo 15:28, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Caledonian Community Pages edit

I noticed many of the pages on various communities within Caledon have been deleted. Actually, it seems to be all of them except Bolton and Palgrave. I don't believe the one on Caledon East was any good, but I think it definitely deserved to stay if Palgrave deserves to stay, considering Caledon East's a larger and more significant community. 65.95.61.79 (talk) 01:09, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Someone also deleted my statement about many communities in Caledon often smelling like manure. I am from Palgrave, and for two months of the year it's all you can smell from the nearby farms. Now due to the lack of any information pertaining to living in Caledon, I thought that would at least give some information about the area, which is heavily rural.

There are also more horses in Caledon than people, so that should be added as soon as I can cite it.

Hey, this place is very rural and I feel the Wikipedia page paints in the light of Bolton, which should be it's own municipality due to it's larger population. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.243.157.228 (talk) 04:01, 30 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

James Cameron and Ping edit

James Cameron isn't from Caledon, so why is he listed in this article? Also, who is Ping? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cybapa (talkcontribs) 01:34, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

James Cameron frequented the Caledon-Hockley Valley area as a kid. I know he's not from here, but someone must've mixed that up with him being from here.

That is why there is a character in the movie Titanic called Caledon Hockley — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.243.157.228 (talk) 04:04, 30 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Caledon Underground Newspaper. edit

Hello fellow wikipedians,

I noticed that someone deleted my article on The Caledon Underground Newspaper, a newspaper run by hard working and dedicated university students in the town, and left the other media links (which I also put up.) Please note that have re-inserted The Caledon Underground Newspaper into the Caledon Ontario page. I would ask that any questions regarding The Caledon Underground be directed to be before another deletion is performed.
Thank you.

I have removed the link as it is now dead. I doubt that the paper ever actually met Wikipedia's notability guidelines in the first place as it did not have a printed circulation in the area. (Connolly15 (talk) 19:19, 25 November 2011 (UTC))Reply

Picture edit

The current picture looks like it's supposed to be an advertisement for potential migrants. This is is ridiculous. Epigrammed (talk) 20:43, 19 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've inserted the official logo of the Town of Caledon until a better picture can be found. I agree that the photo of Highway 10 was not exactly inspiring. If anyone has a good image that can be used (WP:ICT/All) than please feel free to add. (Connolly15 (talk) 19:46, 25 November 2011 (UTC))Reply

Municipal Services NOT for emergencies edit

If I wanted to mention Caledon Public Library as a Municipal Service offered in Caledon, where would be a good place to add it in? Would it maybe be a good idea to change the "emergency services" heading to "Municipal Services" instead? This would allow the mention of CCS and some recreation centres?

>>How much?! edit

"The average price of land was $20." — Really? For how much land? An acre? A square mile? A whole farm? Kelisi (talk) 20:37, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

For Belfountain, the source just says Average price of land $20. But whenever the source does specify units for other towns, it uses acres. – Anne drew 21:05, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the link Andrew. Even though the price is probably $20/acre we shouldn't add it per WP:OR. I guess we'll just leave the specify tag there. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 21:27, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
