editCaladenia cardiochila is described as a taxonomic synonym of Caladenia tessellata by several authorities, listed at APNI. The two species are similar and in eastern Victoria, some specimens of C. cardiochila have been recorded as C. tessellata. However, Jeff Jeanes at the RBGV maintains they are separate, although "[c]linal variation may indicate incomplete speciation of these two taxa or hybridization".[1][2]
It should be noted that Caladenia tessellata is not a (taxonomic) synonym of Caladenia cardiochila.[3] Gderrin (talk) 20:37, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
