Conflict of Interest

I added the {{COI}} template, as individuals associated with this school have not disclosed their conflicts of interest or demonstrated their ability to edit in an objective manner, insisting on peacocking, etc. Cf. the user Andreafagon and Andrea Fagon, the director of Marketing for CUNY SPS is ipso facto non-neutral. To wit:

However, she is not the only account abusing WP:NPOV, or maybe is the same individual, but the Marissa916 and the 128.228.53.17 user are all making the same type of subject-aggrandizing edits or are even the same individual. Murphy Institute

A few editors (or, at least, a few accounts) have removed the Murphy Institute information from the page wholesale, alleging either that it doesn't exist (or maybe never existed?), however there are still published mentions of it. Published today, September 10, 2018 in the Gotham Gazette:

At 8:30 a.m. Friday, the Murphy Institute of Labor will host “Is a Democratic Capitalism Possible?” discussing the erosion of democracy as a result of wealth concentration, and steps to “bolster our democracy and create a more equitable society.” Speakers will include Deputy Mayor J. Phillip Thompson; Maurice Weeks, Co-Executive Director of the Action Center on Race & The Economy; and NYU professor Kim Phillips Fein. CUNY professor Frances Fox Piven will moderate.

So it would seem it is still alive and kicking as a stand-alone entity and still, presumably, housed within SPS. Aside from that, the reason for the reversions was even if it does no longer exist or give out degrees or certificates, it still did exist, and as this is an encyclopedia not a course catalog, the change that should occur is one of tense, not of contents. help to clarify citations

Hi JesseRafe- Thanks so much for your warm welcome and helpful information links. I appreciate your guidance.

Since I am a newbie to Wiki, I am hoping you can help me understand why citations from the New York Times and the American Museum of Natural History were not deemed acceptable and were removed? (https://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/02/jobs/at-cuny-giving-workers-a-leg-up.html?searchResultPosition=1 and https://www.amnh.org/learn-teach/seminars-on-science/grad-credit/city-university-of-new-york ) I thought these would be considered reliable sources, so I am confused as to why they were deleted.

Also, to answer your question about Neil Kleiman, who was a director for the Center for an Urban Future, his statement was not a press release, but an appeal to the board of trustees at CUNY. He detailed the need for CUNY to create the School of Professional Studies as a college to provide an education for working adults who lacked a college degree.

Hi, I don't have time to go into every detail, please read the links on your talk page or read (let alone edit) any other article here. The formatting in the opening sentence is bizarre as you chose to bold random words and punctuation marks. You refer to people with honorifics (and as an SPA and as this article has a longstanding problem with COI and SPAs editing it, I doubt your sincerity given the deference you seem to be giving to Kleinman by calling him "Mr." (again, read any article here and pickup the style)). The rest was just harder to read and poorly written/formatting, no specific problems with the formatting, but seemed to include weasel words and an attempt to aggrandize the subject.
