Shelter

pictures of the monument when it was new

It would be great to have pictures taken of the monument in the early 80s. Are any such around? Wasn't it meant to be a propaganda photo-op factory? Where are those?

the monument deserves its own article

The subject of this article is Buzludzha, the mountain, but most of its content, including all the photos, references, and external links, is about the Buzludzha Monument.

That information should all be in the Buzludzha Monument article. The limited material we have about the mountain (etymology, region, height, historical event) could live on (along with a linked sentence about the monument) under the current name, or it have a section in the Buzludzha Monument page. Six months ago, I added the above comment, observing that the mountain and the monument are distinct and the article is named after the mountain but largely discusses the monument. Nobody has responded, but improvements have been made to the article, relating almost exclusively to the monument. So I intend to proceed with the split. TypoBoy (talk) 13:39, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

I also agree. I'm a PhD researcher based in Bulgaria, and studying the history of the Buzludzha Monument – you'll see I've just updated the page, to include a lot of new information. I have also replaced the link to buzludzha.com with a new reference source – buzludzha-monument.com – as the old site is no longer online. In the interest of full disclosure, I am one of the contributors at this new site... but all the information displayed there is the result of thorough and in-depth research, including interviews with the architect himself.

Agreed: As this article is mostly about the monument I've moved it to the new title, to preserve the edit history; and I've taken the bits here that are about the mountain and put them at the old title. I trust everyone is OK with that. Moonraker12 (talk) 16:32, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

VR Project

• There is a VR Tour/Project/Game (For Lack of a Better Word) Called "Buzludzha VR" That Showcases The Current State of the Site, Goes over it's History, and showcases what it could look like if remodeled as a Museum.
• Would it be a good idea to add this to this wikipedia page?
• I would assume an "in popular culture" section would be how to implement this? That and/or a link to a dedicated page in the "See Also" subsection
