Letters instead of numbers
editThe way I know this game, letters are used instead of numbers, and each guess must be a valid English word. Is this not a common variation? Stevage 06:44, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- This variant is currently included in the description. Joule36e5 (talk) 19:58, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Add Links to 4Digits as well, 4Digits is though not supported now. Added Links to GtkMoo. Add screenshot of GtkMoo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.227.97.99 (talk) 20:10, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
IIT-K?
editWhat's with the line "This game was quite popular at IIT-K some years back, and is much more engaging than the numerical version." ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.248.160.146 (talk) 21:34, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- I removed that text. We don't care about where it was once popular. If someone wants to add back the other clause, a more encyclopedic statement might be along the lines of "using letters instead of digits, while restricting the letters to form dictionary words, results in a richer search space". - I am very interested to know that it was quite popular some years back at IIT-K. But I'd be more interested in knowing the first reference to the game. 19c? Burraron (talk) 13:41, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
