Mongolian language

An editor has "translated" the title as Mongolian: Буг-Жаргал.
No other language of WP mentions any Mongolian connection. The book is set in Hispaniola.
The book does use Spanish in addition to French, e.g. in Ch. VIII (French Wikisource).
This conjecture would appear to be based on a coincidence:
Within the Mongolian province of Govi-Altai, there are two districts named Bugat and Jargalan.
