Grateful Dead

What is the tie-in to the Grateful Dead. Did the author merely lift the names as a nod to the band or does he claim to have created an allegorical world based on the songs that mention the land of Fenario- "Peggy-O" and "Dire Wolf"- and named the world after "Brokedown Palace".

Surely someone must have some insight into this. If I was to write a novel "Rocket Queen" about an evil revolutionary Mr. Brownstone and his efforts to seize Paradise City I'm sure someone would have inquired about this interesting and blatantly lifted set of names. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.183.75.196 (talk) 19:09, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Note the "Dead"-ication: "To Jerry, Bob, Phil, Brent, Robert, John, ... and especially to Billy and Mickey". These were the mid-1980s members of the Grateful Dead, including their primary lyricists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.237.179 (talk) 19:13, 7 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
