This page hoe ram and Breaker (hydraulic) should be combined as one page, they are very similar or the same.Granite07 04:34, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think that Breaker (hydraulic) Should be merged into Hoe ram. Where I'm from these devices are called hoe rams exclusively.--129.64.174.30 01:38, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree that "hoe ram" is the common terminology. Is there any distinction on wikipedia between invoice terms versus field craft terms. Granite07 22:56, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

WP is the "most common" term, so do some research to back up your thesis. Look at OEM's to see what the call it, look at what equipment manufactures call it (CAT, Deere, Case, etc), look at what rental firms call it, service manuals, look in the U.K., Australia, Canada, as well as the U.S. Get and excavator, and dig deep! it will amaze me if anyone spends that much time on "hoe ram", each of the sources you just named use a different term. We could have a Ph.D in hoe ramming when we finished the international survey. Can we just combine them under Breaker (hydraulic) and have a redirect for "hoe ram" since it is likely slang. Probably better uses of our time than the hoe ram page, we could spend some time just listing major heavy civil contractors and updating the equipment page with equipment cost, geotechnical stabilization and machine power. It is just a matter of transposing a few text books.Granite07 04:36, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

History edit

The first hydraulic breaker "Hydraulikhammer HM 400" was invented in 1967 by German company Krupp (today German company Atlas Copco) in Essen. 188.96.184.22 (talk) 21:47, 29 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

That needs sources to show that both *) this thing exists as described, and *) that it really was the first. Andy Dingley (talk) 22:17, 29 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
