Question

edit

"Until it landed in the Halliwell Manor's Attic during the late 1800s.

From then on it was used by the great-great grandmother of Prue, Phoebe, Piper, and Paige."

-When has this ever been referenced in the actual program? There has never been any mention the the Charmed One's great-great grandmother. (actually it did "melinda warren" in the first episode)

Gigantic Huge Spell List

edit

Previous Discussion from Talk:Charmed#Book_of_Shadows_.28Charmed.29:

This morning a link to this page was added into the template, bringing this page that I hadn't noticed before to my attention. Taking a look at it, it's basically a horribly formatted version of the recently deleted "List of Charmed spells" page. It has a bit of extra information (episode names), but aside from that is a major pain on the eyes to read. I see two options for how we can deal with this:

  1. Remove all the spell information from the page, leaving just a basic description of what the BoS is.
  2. Cleanup and reformat the whole page to look pretty and be more useful than either this page, or the old List of Spells page was.

Basically, the second route is to make this page into what some of us wanted the List of Spells page to become, had it survived the AfD. Either way we go, we'll need to move on it ASAP, or this page will also get AfD'd with the state it's in now. The only mystery is how it's survived 8 months like that... Thoughts? --Maelwys 15:10, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think there may be a third option. The individual episode pages contain a "Book of Shadows" section, which includes a list of the spells used in that episode. The list of spells from this page could be split up and moved to the relevant episode pages, leaving this page for a general Book of Shadows description. Just throwing another idea out there. I'd suggest removing all the lists of spells - not a collection of source material. Ziggurat 21:56, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Individual spells: No.
Information on what the BoS is, its history, basic content & structure, differences from real life BoSes and why this all is relevant in the first place: yes.
For starters, the spells that are in the individual episode articles can be hastily removed. AdamDobay 22:56, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I wholeheartedly agree! I have removed the wording of the various spells; context-based additions would be much more valuable. Ziggurat 23:04, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Removing cleanup tag

edit

I've removed the cleanup tag from the article and I thought I'd leave a note here. If you disagree, write here so we know what else to fix. —MiraLuka 05:20, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Change in BoS properties

edit

I think this is an interesting thing to add:

In the 1st season... the Book of Shadows cannot leave the house, but can be touched by demons, that happens in the first episode where the Halliwell's father appears. But in the other seasons... evil can't touch it.

well in the beginning the halliwell sisters werent as powerful and the book is protected by their powers. also it cannot be protected if they r emotionally unstable. User:Boku wa kage

Anyone know why this section was removed? It helps with the "real world" notability of this article. I put it back in since it was removed by an anon IP. Web Warlock (talk) 19:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
