editRE: Conservation
Just a note; Colony Collapse Disorder is more concerned with the honeybee than with Bombus species. See Goulson D. (2008) "Decline and conservation of bumblebees" (Annual Review of Entomology,146 53, 191–208) for threats implicated in the worldwide decline of bumblebee species. These threats are mainly related to the decline of suitable habitats due to increased monoculture imposed by intensive agricultural practice, along with possible effects of new pesticides such as neonicotinomide based compounds (I think Goulson published a paper in Nature about this).
