Is it "Bolky" or "Bolkly"? -- the article seems to be inconsistent. In any case, a scholarly transcription would not have a y at the end.
And "Bolkly" actually sounds completely un-Arabic -- it would have to be spelled as two words (like Ramallah or Omdurman) and/or have an extra vowel to be Arabicized... AnonMoos 19:38, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Bolkly...not Bolky
editIt is Bolkly, not an arabic name though, and "Bokla" is more commonly used by egyptians. TheEgyptian 24 september 2006
Paul Klee
editPlease stop putting false information about Paul Klee in entry. The area was called Bulkeley before World War One, long before Klee visited. (Languagehat 00:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC))
See 1900 map on this page, showing "Stat. Bulkeley" in center: http://www.egyptedantan.com/alexandrie/alexandrie20.htm (Languagehat 14:32, 20 March 2007 (UTC))
