Talk:Blue lobster

Several issues come up here:

  1. Blue lobsters are, as far as I know, not rare. Almost all European lobsters, for instance, are blue until cooked, when they take on the familiar red colour. See the image on the European lobster page, which depicts a lobster which is clearly blue.
  2. Even if blue colour morphs are rare in the American lobster, then that should be mentioned as a paragraph at most in the article about American lobsters. It is hardly a big enough topic to warrant its own article.
  3. I couldn't be bothered to correct the spelling.

On the basis of the above points, I've changed blue lobster to a redirect. --Stemonitis 07:59, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Removed the following:

Blue Lobsters One in two million lobsters (1:2,000,000) can have a mutation that allows them to have a blue outer shell.[1] The blue lobster is not different from the regular lobster we are used to (see "Lobster"). The mutation just influences the lobsters outer shell color. They can be found any place where regular lobsters are found.

This content is wrong for a disambiguation page, and the content of this prose is already covered by the American lobster page. (Also, not in neutral stance since it presumes a US reader). ChrisBateman (talk) 09:26, 13 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
