Last week a paragraph headed King's Church Quantocks which was a direct copy & paste from Kings Church Quantocks. I removed this text. It has now been reinserted and I have been contacted by email outside of wikipedia saying that the web site owner gives permission for this use. I have replied pointing to the relevant guidelines and procedures on wikipedia to enable this to happen and placed the copyvio notice on the article. I hope that the editor concerned will add a message here explaining the situation more fully.— Rod talk 08:10, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am the website owner who put in the original article content and it is used with my full permission with regard to copyright. The article is not a direct copy/paste - it is added to. I am taking steps to comply with Wikipedia copyright policy and if I am deficient in this area in anyway please let me know. I may be contacted at brian@kingschurchquantocks.org.uk. I will shortly make an account with Wikpedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.149.252 (talk) 10:14, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

In order, as the owner of the website, to clear this material, you need to follow through with one of the following:
  • You may make a note on the original website indicating that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain. If you do so, place an indication here with a link to where we can find that note.
  • You may send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so here. (See WP:Permission for further instructions, including a boilerplate release form.)
However, the material you are adding is problematic for other concerns, in that it does not have an encyclopedic tone. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Material in our articles should be neutrally written and present referenced facts. Articles may not include promotional material.
It is for this reason that Wikipedia discourages editing where a conflict of interest exists.
If you have questions about these policies or guidelines (tucked away under the colored text), please feel free to let me know at my talk page or to follow up at Wikipedia's help desk, typically manned around the clock by volunteers. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:52, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Minor Edits

edit

I stumbled upon your article through the "random article" feature and have just corrected one or two grammatical errors and re- phrased certain sentences. For example the parish council is a single body and should be "it" and "is" as opposed to "they" and "are". I also capitalised Lower Mill, though you may disagree (I have no local knowledge of the village!). Kind Regards, HJ Mitchell (talk) 03:36, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
