I changed it to say Day 6 instead of post-day 5. Neeknitsuj 10:17, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

"He is currently boning Karen Hayes" I never cease to be amazed at what some people consider to be appropriate in a Wiki. 22:56, 11 January 2007

Director edit

Curtis reinstated Bill as director of CTU. When Karen Hayes came she wasn't director of CTU but when Audrey signed that statement Bill was dismissed. So why does it say Bill and Karen were directors together when they weren't. Bill was even at home for at least 3 hours. Neeknitsuj 05:29, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please stick to the subject edit

Editors of this article are writing blow-by-blow descriptions of the show instead of material specifically focusing on the character. Wikipedia articles should stay tightly focused on their subject, and should not be used as an excuse to transcribe everything that has anything at all to do with the subject. Furthermore, organizing by "Day" (season) is abetting this inappropriate verbosity by suggesting that it's appropriate to just record everything that happened in the season. The proper way to write this is to write what the character history is, with only passing references (accompanied by cited references to episodes) to mark when events occurred and how information has been revealed. (See Malcolm Reynolds for an example of how to accomplish this.)

If the Day 5 and Day 6 sections isn't boiled down to essences that specifically inform the subject, I plan to delete both and call for a complete rewrite. I hope the other 24 character articles aren't this verbose, but I'm afraid to look. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 17:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I fixed it up a bit. Any comments on how it can be further improved are appreciated. MoChan 16:31, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
The effort is appreciated, but it still looks like a detailed discussion of everything that Buchanan did or was involved in, rather than a concise discussion of the character. Please look at the Malcolm Reynolds character page mentioned above. Another way to look at this is to consider how one would write a biography of this person if they were a real person. People's lives don't run like serials, so their articles shouldn't read like plot synopses. This is an encyclopedia, not Television Without Pity.
I recommend throwing out the "Day" sections, collecting important facts about and events for Buchanan (so far), collecting specific citations of episodes where the information is first revealed (in order to cite sources), and then assembling them into a proper biography of a fictional character. Other than taking care to ensure the subject is identified clearly as fictional, this article should read like any other biography. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 18:24, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I disagree with that. Many tv character biographies are grouped in exactly the same way. And it's not as if this article has everything Bill Buchanan ever did on the show. Leave it the way it is. Neeknitsuj 01:13, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disgraceful edit

I really appreciate the person who replaced the old, perfect Director Of CTU boxes with this horrible 'Directors of CTU' box at the bottom of the page. The grammar is horrible and whoever decided to edit it decided that Lynn McGill, Curtis Manning and Karen Hayes never served as Director during season 5. Neeknitsuj 04:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Bill In Season 7 Trailer.jpg edit

Image:Bill In Season 7 Trailer.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Statuses "not used" edit

Lucy-marie recently removed my edit, I re-added character statuses, yet she felt it necessary to delete these. I don't see how it hurts having the characters status there, but it's really not my decision, what does anyone else think about this? Steve Crossin (talk) 03:42, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
