Looking at the cited http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing#Infrastructure_as_a_service_.28IaaS.29 definition, I question BigQuery's IaaS classification. To me it's clearly a PaaS offering (database).

These are just marketing buzzwords anyway, not any real technical definition. But this article needs help. W Nowicki (talk) 23:16, 26 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Agree, BigQuery is in PaaS and SaaS territory, but clearly not IaaS Mentin (talk) 18:51, 16 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Complementarily

edit

It is a serverless Software as a Service (SaaS) that may be used complementarily with MapReduce.

While "complementarily" is a valid word, it is also a warning sign.

Is there enough value-add here over "BigQuery complements MapReduce." to support this polysyllabic circumlocution? — MaxEnt 23:52, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
