Tokio Hot 100

The source used claims chart positions from both the Tokio Hot 100 chart, an unofficial airplay chart used in Japan, where there are no sources from the official, sales-based Oricion singles chart. If there is no official chart position, the table should be left without a chart position, since the Tokio Hot 100 chart positions are not official and not based on sales at all. The main problem here is consistency, or rather, the lack of it. Cleanup tag

I have tagged this article for cleanup more than once (as well as tidying up some of it myself), but I keep being reverted. Here are the reasons why the article needs cleaning up:

1. Song titles should be in double quotation marks, not italics.
2. Solitary year, month and month-year links should not be inserted unless there is an extremely good reason.
3. Various capitalisation errors in song and album titles, e.g. "Check On It" instead of the correct "Check on It".
4. Various formatting errors, such as number-one positions being boldfaced for no good reason.
5. Far too much detail for a general discography article. If the reader want to know how Knowles' singles faired on minor component charts, then that's what the single articles are for. This article is supposed to be a general overview.

I did a bit of cleanup today in order to bring things up to better adhere to the Wikipedia Tables for Charts guideline within WP:MUSIC. However, I'm conerned about placing an image beside every single she releases. Firstly, its going to make the article way too large. As her discography grows this page is going to become huge. Second, these images really should be used with the articles about the songs, inside the yellow infoboxes. All of the release dates, etc. are also outlined in the individual articles about the songs, so this is a bunch of redundant information. I'm suggesting the removal of the excessive images here, and perhaps combine some of these tables, such as bringing the world charts info up into the main table. I'm getting a little irritated over the constant changes and inflations to her records sales. First of all no sources are provide for Dangerously In Love selling over 11 million. DIL Worldwide Sales

• The more accurate source says the album's sales are at 8 million worldwide, which I believe is just as accurate. Mediatraffic's list (which has it at 6 million) is not accurate, due to the fact that they stop including sales for the albums when they fall off the chart. The source from media traffic is the most reliable source there is and albums generally don't pick up large amounts of sales after they fall off the charts, it's rather unbelievable for an album who's majority of sales are in the U.S. to pick up another 2 million with no promotion. I have yet to see another reliable source for the sales anyway. The source someone posted linked to the artists website and it didn't even say anything about the album sales...so therefore I'm more inclined to believe the mediatraffic source than any other and until I see a better one, I'll maintain the page accordingly. Polish Charts????

Not trying to offend anyone from Poland but, I still cannot understand WHY Poland is one of the countries in the discography charts' table! Poland is NOT an important music market and furthermore, Beyonce's position there had not been very succesful, to be honest... "Single Ladies" is only an official single in the US, everywhere else it is the B-Side to the physical "If I Were A Boy" video. "If I Were A Boy" is the only international single at this time. Singles Charts

Instead of jumping into an edit war, can someone explain to me why Beyoncé's singles must be divided into individual tables, instead of one organized table? Unless there is some Wikipedia guidelines that dictate otherwise, I'm going to petition to have her singles listed in one single chart, once again. TJ 22:56, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't think there's a guideline or policy dictating one or the other, but for what it's worth I prefer the previous format (three separate tables) - it's easier to navigate, and the tables all serve slightly different purposes. Cheers, TFOWR^{This flag once was red} 23:09, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

i think the main reason was because it just looks silly. they are 3 separate tables all stuck together in one. its not even listed chronologically in the one big table, its split up into 3 different sections. so it makes perfect sense for them to be separate tables. also i think it will help if we want to promote the article to FA status. because looking at other FA discographies they are all split into groups.

I have to disagree about the singles being listed chronologically in the one big table, it's just separated by album singles, soundtrack singles, and featured singles. And the single table, "looking silly" is sort of a juvenile argument, and more of an opinion than anything else. However, I will agree with you on getting the article promoted to FA status that it should be uniform with other FA discographies. Mister sparky, I think your split would work, but I think some of the chart positions are a bit incorrect. You have "Work it Out" as 104 on the U.S. charts, when it didn't chart on the Hot 100. It only charted on the U.S. R&B charts, which you've eliminated from the table. Also, shouldn't there be three separate tables instead of combining the soundtrack singles with her album singles? I also made an attempt of splitting the singles based off your template in my own sandbox. Radio next European Single

Radio will be the next European single. I have changed the discography a few times but someone is deleting it every single time. I'd put some references with it. In the Netherlands it already had a peak position on place 64 and it is the most played song on the biggest radio station in the Netherlands (Radio 538). There is even already a cover for the single. hey, it was me that keeps removing it because i have been trawling the net and havent found anything reliable enough to provide official confirmation of a single release, only blogs and forums. Radio play and a chart position doesnt make it an official single, which is why i was going to add it to the "other charted songs" table. once there is reliable confirmation then it can of course be added to the singles. Well here in the Netherlands we'r most of the time the first country that puts new music on (that's why Sweet Dreams doesn't have a high peak position because the song was already out of the Top 40 when her musicvideo was released). Here we don't put unofficial singles in the Top 40. The song is now played on every radio station and 2 of the biggest stations use the song for their commercials. Broken-hearted Girl isn't released here, but Radio is. I think it takes one or two weeks and the song will be tuned on every radio station in Europe. radio airplay is still not official confirmation of single release. find it on a releases schedule or on the official site or something. there any many stories going around about the next single, this, broken-hearted girl and video phone. i'm sorry but amazon is not considered a reliable source. they make many mistakes, ie they had the madonna greatest hits album listed as iconography for months, which we now know is incorrect. find it on an official singles releases list or if it is mentioned on her official site. the only places i've seen it mentioned is forums. Beyonce sales status

I was wondering if I saw a recent change yesterday with Beyonce's "I am... Sasha Fierce" album. I believe I noticed her sales reaching 3 million records yesterday (3/31/10)and today I was wondering why is it at 2 again. I'm almost certain that it stand at triple platnium currently. "I Am... Tour" - Live DVD

A DVD featuring I Am... Tour footage has yet to be confirmed for a release. It should not have a listing in this discography. I removed its name from the list of video albums, but since then, my edit has been reverted. I do not wish to start any trouble, but seeing as how only a fan site has reported the concert being shot, we should not jump to conclusions and name the DVD. Many believe Live in London (or whatever it's being called) already has a release date. This is completely false. The source is from an Amazon listing of a DVD not even being manufactured by Columbia Records. Does anyone second the idea to remove the listing? I've already re-directed the page for the DVD to its tour page - no questions asked. That is simply because it was small and not notable enough (as it really has no title, release date, or confirmation for release) to have its own page. Anyway, what do you guys think? Album world sales

Ofcourse we don't have official world sales for her album but there are some forums that have really good and reliable estimates! Somebody should fill numbers of world sales and sales from most important markets (US, UK, maybe Australia, Canada etc.) How is it possible for DIL to be at 6M mark worldwide when she reached 6M just in US and UK, it's crazy. I don't understand why the soundtrack singles are listed in their own separate section here. I agree with Ending-start. They are singles (official). We can mention the soundtrack on the Album column. For example, Madonna singles discography, Mariah Carey singles discography and Phil Collins discography all list the soundtrack releases as official singles. However, i will never consider singles from albums and soundtrack albums to be the same because soundtrack singles are practically never successful. I put practically in bold so that editors do not start coming with examples of soundtrack singles which suffered fro a much better fate. The biggest evidence here is that even fans do not treat soundtrack singles the sane way. Singles from album received better commercial reception. For instance, Beyonce's Listen peaked at number 61 on the US Billboard Hot 100 while the cover of Glee peaked at number 38. And no. We cannot list Dreamgirls Soundtrack / B'Day next to "Listen" because it was not a single from the album. It was a single only from Dreamgirls. Why does it matter if the song is successful or not? It was still released. And to me, only those 2 songs warrant as official singles, and "Listen" is still a bit mixed for me, and can labeled a "promo single", but "Work It Out" is deff an official single, and should be listed as such. As Novice pointed out, Billboard calls it her debut single. And it doesn't really matter if they also call "Crazy in Love" that as well, Christina Aguilera's label, for example, say she only has four studio albums, when she really has six. ℥^nding·start 15:21, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
