Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?

Was this copied from a promotional brochure or something?

edit

Although as far as I can tell this article hasn't been copied from another website, the rather non-neutral language used ("beautiful mountains", "award-winning golf courses" etc etc etc) in most of it makes it sound like it was written as an advertisement. The bulk of this article and its flowery text seem to have been added in huge swaths by one or two people, so it might be wise for somebody to proofread the entire thing and make it sound more factual and less like we're being pitched a timeshare. 4.226.111.233 01:34, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

No this was not copied from brochure. It is actually a work by a few people that have gathered info, both positive and negative, over the last year. The pictures I took myself and donated them to wikipedia. If you want to dispute something, feel free to change it and add your source. Until then lighten up on the criticism. The truth is that this is a "gorgeous" and "award-winning" golf and recreational village. 70.178.120.190 17:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The term "award-winning" is indicative of objective and documented fact. The word "gorgeous", however, is rather subjective, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Without discrediting the work on the article thus far, it should be noted that the goal for this and other encyclopedia articles is to convey minimal to no opinion. — ArkansasTraveler 19:28, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have just tried to clean it up a bit, and make it flow better (by moving around pictures and merging useful sections). I'll try to make it sound more neutral; I have removed some text such as a personal story about how someone stole road signs or something or other. It did have a sentence or two that admitted the writer was someone who spent a fond childhood growing up there, which I removed. It needs a lot of references in the 'Growth' section, and I'm not sure I'll have the time to look them all up. I'll do my best to clean it up further. kkarma 21:58, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've noticed quite a few city articles that have the exact same headings, content, tone, etc, & I was wondering if they all came from brochures myself. This is especially irritating as I'm researching to find places in the Arkansas-Missouri area that were well-established prior to the Civil War, & it seems 4 out of 5 that I hit as likely prospects have absolutely nothing in them regarding their history....incl this one. I don't know how these articles are even considered C-class when one of the most important sections have been omitted. ScarletRibbons (talk) 05:40, 12 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

A major developer of the community according to this version. That paragraph needs to be clarified. --NeilN talk to me 20:43, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
