Looking at the timeline, it clearly predates Punk'd. It's harder to say if the american show drew influence from Beadle, though, since this show ended its run in 1990's. --TLein (talk) 09:09, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's really not the first. Candid Camera started in the 1940s, and lists Beadle's About (among others) in the Legacy section. JaffaCakeLover (talk) 19:29, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
